Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US. Here's a link to this great service Good luck!It sounds like you need a pedal switch or it has a loose connection in the wires. It is a specific Peg Perego Switch that will fit under the foot pedal. I have a gator that was doing the same thing so i replaced the shifter switches and the foot pedal switch, but I bet you could start with just the foot pedal switch.
I bought mine at this website http://wwwjandl/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego but you could also call them as well.
Hope this helps2The gearboxes for both hummers and peg perego gators are under the back seat.
If you hear a clicking noise It is definatly the gearbox on the gator. The hummer gearboxes sometimes come loose from the motors, so it may be as simple as tightning the motor gearbox.
Here is how you take the gearboxes out from the gator.
1. disconnect battery
2. take hinge pins out from the dump bed to access the green cover plate.
3. take a flathead screwdriver and pry around the plastic cover to expose the gearboxes.
4. take the rear wheels off and remove the rear axle.
remove the motor gearboxes (they are interchangeable)
5. install the new gearboxes making sure the wires are secure and the wheels are going in the correct direction.
6. put back together.
7. hook up battery and your good to go!
If you have any problems are questions you can contact these guys at http://wwwjandl/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego-switches-and-shifters .
They have a toll-free number and are very smart when it comes to these peg perego ride on toys.0I would replace the high low switch for this peg perego gator.
The high low switch as seen here http://wwwjandl/mepu0002 will not allow it to go forward. The reverse switch will sometimes not work at all as well.
You can contact http://wwwjandl/ . They repair them and know how to figure out what is wrong.
I would also check the wiring on the motors. Sometimes the wiring comes loose and doesn't allow all the speeds to function properly.
hope this helps0The Peg Perego Gearbox is the item that would make a clicking noise or grinding noise.
There are two different types.
One is a cross shape and another is a pentagon shape.
If you contact the folks at http://wwwjandl/ they will be able to tell you what type you need. I get all my parts from them because they help me figure the problems out.
Hope this helps0I would contact the repair help at http://wwwjandl/ They seem to know a lot about these toys1Below is a the wiring diagram for the Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX.
